While many of our lawyers have exercised their skills in criminal matters, our partner Brian Gover brings to the firm particular expertise from his previous work as Crown Counsel at the Crown Law Office – Criminal.  Our criminal litigation practice has included acting as special prosecutors and as defence counsel on selected criminal matters. More frequently, however, we provide sophisticated advice and advocacy on difficult issues of criminal and quasi-criminal law that arise outside the typical setting of criminal prosecution and defence, including frequently advising the Toronto Police Service on issues where taking advice from Crown counsel is not an available option.  This specialized practice is unique among Toronto civil litigation boutiques.

Our areas of particular expertise include search and seizure law, mutual legal assistance, and problems arising from the use of confidential informants by police services and other investigative agencies.
